It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Pratt III on Aug. 27, 2026, in Eagle River, Alaska. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Frank was born in Newburyport, Mass., in 1955; he leaves behind a legacy marked by love, service and a great joy of the outdoors.

Frank is survived by his wife, Margery Pratt; daughter, Angelina Benjamin; son, Luke Pratt; and grandson, Ma'a Benjamin, all of Eagle River. He is also survived by his brother, DeWayne Pratt and sister-in-law Julie Pratt in Littleton, Colo., along with their family. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank Jr. and Verna Pratt; and sister, Lynne Frost.

As a child in a military family, Frank moved regularly around the country, including Kalamazoo, Mich.; New Orleans, La.;, and Monterey, Calif., finally settling in Anchorage, Alaska, when he was 12. He was a member of the first graduating class of Service High School, 1973. Frank worked in the Anchorage area in building maintenance and HVAC for 30 years. Summers he was a sport fishing guide out of the Susitna Landing and Talkeetna, Alaska. A diligent volunteer, Frank dedicated many hours of service to the Boy Scouts of America and participated in the large crop weigh-off and berry judging at the Alaska State Fair. Frank lived his life with a deep appreciation for nature. An avid fisherman, hunter and camper, he spent countless hours in the vast wilderness of Alaska. However, his favorite vacation spot was Hawaii, a place he visited frequently and where he and Margery were married in 1993.

We will remember Frank for his humor, kindness, his unwavering strength and his love for his family and community. May he rest in peace and his memory continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
