Bradley Bowman died unexpectedly on Aug. 6, 2026, at the age of 65, at his home. He was a Palmer resident although he spent many years living in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born in Norton, Kan., on Aug. 25, 1960. Brad came to Alaska with his family in 1977 when his stepfather, Clifford Laird, was stationed at Ft. Richardson. He was interested in the hunting adventures that Alaska had to offer. His parents, Vonda Laird and David Bowman, former residents of Kansas, preceded him in death. Introduced by mutual friends, he met his wife Rhonda Bowman, to whom he was married to for 43 years.

Brad managed and was co-owner of the Union 76 gas station at 15th and C Street for four years. Once it was sold due to the death of his partner he turned his talents to construction. Brad operated equipment and drove trucks throughout the state, hauling various goods and equipment for Empire Leasing. Then, he started working for various asphalt/paving companies, which allowed him to pursue his winter adventures of hunting, ice fishing and snowmaching.

Bradley is survived by his sisters, Marily Ervin and Valerie Mefferd; brother, Clifford "Shane" Laird and wife Susan Laird; nieces, Stacie Laird and Laci Johnson; nephews, Shane Laird, Levi Johnson and Wade Johnson; and cousins, Charlotte Plotts and Greg Johnson.

There will be a Celebration of Life, but the date and location are unknown at this time.
