Barbara Louise Alm-Anders

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Alm-Anders at age 87. Barbara was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1939, to Milton and Helen Alm. She was raised in Alaska, growing up in Homer in the 1940s and 1950s. Before her retirement she worked at Anchorage Dental Arts for 30 years. Her work as a dental assistant gave her a place to display her compassion, and she was loved by both coworkers and patients. She traveled nationally and internationally but always called Alaska home. She was generous with her time and money for strangers, friends and family. Her home was a place of welcome, kindness and peace. Barbara loved Jesus above all else.

Barbara leaves behind her partner, Bill Waddell, whom she grew up with in Homer, reconnected with and lived her life out with to the fullest. She also leaves behind her sons, Ivan (Danielle) Anderson and Darren (Tracie) Anderson; grandchildren, Jameson Anderson, Carson Anderson, Rachael (Jeremy) Rowe, Jessica (Tyler Barrett) Anderson, Dean (Brittney) Anderson and Jordan Anderson; great-grandchildren, Arika, Loralei, Autumn, Kaybri and Ember Rowe, Eloise and Bear Anderson; and one great great-grandchild, Laeni Rowe. Barbara was preceded in death by her older sister Marilyn Prevost.
