Raniganj Perez, 69, of Homestead, Fla., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and dementia.

With his easygoing nature and magnetic charm, Raniganj was a consistently cheerful and optimistic presence to everyone he met. He lived his life as a devoted Christian, serving as a steadfast pillar of faith and strength for his family, whom he proudly provided for and cherished above all else. He lived his faith aloud through his actions—always pouring love into others and leaving a legacy as a servant leader. As an active member of The Last Harvest Ministry in Miami, Fla., Raniganj continually sought opportunities to serve, uplift others and be a blessing to those around him.

Born and raised in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Raniganj met and married his wife Sylvia Perez, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage until her passing in March 2026. Together, they raised two daughters and built a life that spanned Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Alaska, and Florida. He took great pride in the life they built and in raising his children in a Christ-centered home. He dedicated over 20 years of service to FedEx, retiring from the Anchorage, Alaska, office. Highly regarded and well-liked by his colleagues, FedEx pilots would frequently bring him unique gifts from their travels around the globe as a token of their appreciation.

Raniganj's three grandchildren were his greatest joy. Every moment spent with them lit up his face with an unforgettable smile, filling his days with playful games, endless giggles and shared laughter. An ever-present father and a steady role model, he quietly imparted wisdom through the simple joys of daily life. He was the father who played basketball in the driveway, took his daughters on trips to the library and turned weekend day trips into unforgettable adventures. When they were young, he would gently tuck them in, praying with them and singing comforting hymns at bedtime.

Raniganj Perez is survived by his daughter, Sylvette Perez; and daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Daniel Frechette, along with their children, Thomas, Andalucia and Frederick. He is also survived by his siblings, Evelyn Almonte and Rajpur Perez, along with their spouses and children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Perez; father, Luis M. Perez; and mother, Juanita Diaz.

Papi, this is not goodbye—it is simply "until we meet again." We find peace in knowing that you are free now, safe in the arms of Jesus. You taught us to live with gratitude, to cherish each moment and to never take tomorrow for granted. You were a loving husband, a devoted father and a cherished Abuelo. You are and will always be deeply loved.
