ReGina lived life to the fullest until she couldn't, and went to be with her Lord on April 18, 2026. She was born on Jan. 14, 1963, in South Bend, Ind., to Ralph and Joyce Roberts.

From an early age, ReGina understood that she wanted to help others and be a nurse. She obtained her nursing degree from Indiana University in Indianapolis and proceeded to get her master's to become a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in kidneys and hypertension. Propelled by her endless curiosity, she coauthored multiple published papers, expanding the world's knowledge about renal disease.

With her kindness, infectious smile and loving heart, ReGina made a lasting impact on patients and friends, many of whom became family.

After her first husband died, she took a position in Alaska at Providence Hospital, arriving the day before 9/11 and wondered what she had done. ReGina built a life for herself in Anchorage, Alaska, where she created a community of friends, whom she said were the "relatives you make for yourself."

ReGina faced many challenges in her life but approached each with grace and a smile, acting as an example to all who were lucky enough to know her. To overcome cerebral palsy, she decided to become a fitness competitor.

She met Mike at a breakfast meetup with friends and the two were inseparable from that day forward. They married in August 2011, in Anchorage, spending the next years traveling around Europe and the Middle East or to friends and family around the Lower 48. ReGina developed a love of flying and the two would frequently fly to scenic locations for picnic lunches and exploring.

ReGina spent her final years surrounding by family and friends in Cave Creek, Ariz., where they moved after her diagnosis with ALS. With her lifelong quest to help, she was able to participate in a number of studies through Barrow Neurologic, which she hoped would help in the understanding of the disease and a possible cure for future patients.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; brother, Richard of Tennessee; stepchildren, Heather, Heath, Joe and Cody; goddaughters, Michelle, Kaitlyn and Spring; and her extended family and close friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Russel; and brother, Ralph Roberts.
