Roberta Jamestown, 70, passed away on July 11, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, auntie, coworker and most importantly of all, a dedicated grandmother.

Roberta was born on August 16, 1955, in Angoon, AK. to Robert Jamestown and Lucy Jamestown (Nelson).

Roberta had three children with Clement Shangin, Melinda, Clementine and Kristen. They raised their children in Perryville and taught them to live a traditional subsistence lifestyle, picking berries, harvesting from the land and putting away fish for each winter.

She loved her daughters and grandchildren and was always there to support them in whatever ways that they needed, and that they were always the topic of conversation for phone calls with relatives.

She was also beloved by her coworkers, both old and current, and many gave the family their support when they were told the news.

Roberta is survived by her daughters, Melinda Abyo (Andrew), Clementine and Kristen Shangin; grandchildren, Matthew (Fergie), Breanna (David), Alyssa, Andrew "Jacob," Aleksandra and Natasha; Deandra (Ryan), Dylan and Mikayla, and great grandchildren River and Rain; her brother, Victor, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by Clement Shangin; parents; Robert and Lucy Jamestown; and siblings, Connie, Vernan, Robert Jr., Ruth, Eli, Norman, Alfred and Pat.

Services for Roberta will be held at Legacy Funeral Home Heritage Chapel at Angelus on August 5, 2026, at 1PM.

Visitation will begin at 12 PM, services will follow at 1 PM. There will be a potluck afterwards.
