Jeanette Applebury

May 6, 1941 -

Jul 15, 2026

Jeanette (Wildey) Applebury, 85, passed away on July 15, 2026, in Anchorage, Alaska.

Jeanette was born on May 6, 1941, in Sturgis, S.D. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Applebury, who passed away in 1992 and whom she deeply loved.

After Jay's passing, Jeanette married Jerry Shook. They enjoyed happy years together until Jerry's passing.

Jeanette's joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to caring for her home and raising her family with love and strength. She is survived by her three children, Victoria Moran (Applebury), Kelly Jolley (Applebury) and Darin Applebury; nine grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was known as the ultimate hockey mom. She had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed camping and moose hunting. Friends and family often smiled because she always looked her best, even when she went on a successful guided brown bear hunt.

Above all, Jeanette loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She taught her children the importance of good manners, showing respect, honoring others and, importantly, honoring God. These values became part of her legacy.

Jeanette will be remembered for her faith. Her life was a testament to devotion to God, her family and the people she loved. While her presence will be missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is home with our Heavenly Father and reunited with the loved ones who went before her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 4 p.m., at the home of her son, Darin Applebury, 6671 Shangri-La Circle in Anchorage. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather to celebrate Jeanette's life and share memories.
