Edward Lewis Kleinecke, 96, passed away at Big Hearts Alaska Assisted Living Home in Anchorage, Alaska, on April 9, 2026.

Edward was born on Oct. 5, 1929, in Sparks, Nev., to Edward Levis Kleinecke and Clodile Allard-Kleinecke. When Edward grew up, he attended school and received his AA degree in pharmaceuticals. He worked for Western Drug Supply from 1960 to 1994. In 2013, Edward made the move to Alaska. He lived in Eagle River until 2020, when he moved to Anchorage, where he had been living since. Edward loved hiking, fishing, hunting and square dancing. Family states, "He loved to tell stories … some of them were even true!"

Edward is survived by his sons, August Lee Kleinecke, Lawrence James Kleinecke and Thomas Edward Kleinecke; daughter, Dyann Louise Berglund; and sister, Louise White. Edward is preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Railey.
