Heather Deanne Herman, age 32, of Anchorage, Alaska, was in a fire at her home in Anchorage on May 14, 2020, she was flown to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle, Wash., where she passed from her injuries on May 20, 2020. Heather gave the gift of life through organ donation.
Heather was born in Anchorage to parents Kathy Moss Herman and Roger Herman. She was recently baptized on May 3, 2020, at New Grace Christian Church.
Heather was an inducted member at the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and recently earned her Certification for Medical Coding at UAA and had plans to continue her education.
An all-Alaskan girl, Heather would have her hair and nails done on a Friday, go shooting Saturday, and sleep under the stars at Waikiki beach in Kenai on Sunday.
Heather is survived by her mother, Kathy Moss Herman of Anchorage and Sun City, Ariz.; father, Roger Herman of Anchorage; grandmother, Jaye Moss of Sun City; aunts and uncles, Laura and Scott Fitzsimmons of San Jose, Calif., Marilyn and Neil Rylander of Vancouver, Wash., Carolyn and Bob Hanson of Gresham, Ore., Sherri Spencer of Los Angeles, Calif.; cousins, Alison Huss, Brandon Camp, Jason and Kayla Seal, Trevor Seal, all from Oregon; dear friend and bonus brother, Cody Sullivan of Anchorage; bonus grandmothers, Karen Harris "Kare-bear" of Pueblo, Colo., and Ida Daily of Anchorage.
Heather's spirit was resilient and her love, loyal. Her heart sung a song all on it's own that lucky few truly heard. She will be missed more than any words from any language can express.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, 10 a.m., at New Grace Christian Church, 10821 Totem Rd., Anchorage, AK 99516. Following the service all are welcome to head to Waikiki beach at Kenai Lake for camping and a celebration of life over the weekend.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Alaska Humane Society Adopt-A-Cat Shelter where Heather loved to volunteer and adopted her beloved cats.
