Florence Anne Ward, a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old.

Born on July 24, 1938, in Cordova, Alaska, Florence devoted her life to faith, family and service. She was a woman of deep love and unwavering faith whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.

A devoted wife to John for 27 years, she built a home filled with love, laughter and faith. Her greatest joy was her family — her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren — each of whom she cherished deeply and prayed for daily. Her strong spirit, listening heart and steady presence were the foundation of her family.

Florence was also a lifelong member of Holy Family Cathedral, where she faithfully served in many roles throughout the years. Whether teaching Sunday school, preparing meals for church gatherings or offering a comforting word to those in need, she lived her faith through action and example.

She is survived by her children, Amy and Michael; grandchildren, Terimarie, Elizabeth, Laura Kay and Julianna; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Stella; and siblings, Elizabeth, Susan, Bonnie, Margaret, Mary Lou, Lynne, Judith, Laura, Sandy and Joseph; and preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rusty; husband, John; and siblings, Ned, Nancy, Diane and Robert.

Her life was a testament to love, faith and family — a legacy that will continue in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Catholic funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Cathedral on Nov. 7, 2025, at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery with a reception at the Parrish Hall at Holy Family Cathedral. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend and share in honoring her beautiful life.
