Stanley A. Mason

After many years of health struggles, Stanley A. Mason passed away on Oct. 15, 2025, in Yakima, Wash. Stan was born on Oct. 10, 1946, in Cheyenne, Wyo. His family moved to Alaska in the mid-1950s and eventually settled in the Butte area of Palmer.

Stan graduated from Palmer High School and served in the U.S. Army until 1968. After his discharge, he married Susan Scheibl and started working in the light aircraft industry in Anchorage, Alaska, building a career with Van Dusen Aircraft Supply, Aviall and Aero Twin Inc. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing and ballroom dancing, and was a productive member of Eagles Aerie 4207 in Anchorage for many years. After retirement, he moved to Florida with his wife LaVonne, where he loved to relax at Moose Lodge 1899 in Fort Myers. His final move was to Yakima, to be close to his daughter, Sandy Allen.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Mason; siblings, Ivan Mason, Darris Mason, Arnold Mason, Ernest Mason and Elsie Akers; first wife, Susan; and second wife, LaVonne.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Allen; and his loving dance partner, Kathleen Domanski.

Stanley was a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; donations to St. Jude in Stan's memory are welcome.
