James Rogers was born at Offutt AFB in Lincoln, Nebraska, August 12, 1957. As an "Air Force brat", he lived in many states, including Nebraska, Montana, and Arizona. He and his family moved to Alaska in 1968. He graduated from East High School in 1975. Wrestling was a passion of Jim's in high school - one in which he excelled. Jim worked for many years as a salesmen at Brown's Electric Supply, both in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Jim loved guns and shooting and was a lifetime member of NRA. He also enjoyed watching TV and playing with his dogs, Fred and Shadow. He was a devoted Christian and loved listening to Maranatha Music. He sang with the Worship Team at his church for several years. Late in his life, Jim moved to Tucson, AZ for medical reasons. At Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, he was diagnosed with right-sided heart failure which inevitably took his life. Jim was never married. His family recalls "Jim was a generous and loving brother and a wonderful son". He passed into Glory from Tucson, AZ on September 25, 2025. He was preceded in death by his Christian parents, Toby and Bettie Rogers. He is survived by sisters Sharon, Williams (WA), Susan Jeffers (AZ), and Judi Spry (AK), as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him. An informal memorial service will be held at his residence in Anchorage at 2 p.m., October 25, 2025.
