Mousa "Moses" Obeidi, 100, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 3, 1925, in Jerusalem, Palestine, Moses was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His journey to the United States reflected his determination to provide a better life for his family.
Moses became the first Palestinian business owner in Alaska and successfully operated businesses for more than six decades. He was known for his kindness, humor, generosity and unwavering faith in God. He often shared, "The key to success is to be honest, kind to others and a person of God."
His proudest accomplishment was ensuring his children and grandchildren had the opportunity to pursue education and build their futures.
He is survived by his wife, Nema; their seven children; 28 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by the Anchorage community he helped shape over the years.
He was laid to rest on Sept. 6, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Islamic Community Center of Anchorage, Alaska.
"Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un"
Surely, we belong to God, and to Him we shall return.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
