Nov 2, 1988 -

Apr 16, 2025

Nicasio "Nic" Reagan Garcia Hutchens was born at home in Oregon to Deborah Hutchens and Jose Garcia on the morning of Nov. 2, 1988. He was a rambunctious child who enjoyed climbing his mother's cabinets, playing "army men" with his brothers and helping to care for his family's many pets. Always choosing to name his various pets "Charlie." As a teen and adult, Nic valued health and fitness, frequently working on strength training and was always willing to help his family with physical tasks. Nic grew up in Fairbanks, attending Lathrop high school before moving with his family to Big Lake in 2018, and then to Anchorage in 2023. He worked as a seasonal truck driver in Prudhoe Bay for many years, as well as locally in Fairbanks and Anchorage. Nic loved Magic The Gathering, his pickup truck, fruit smoothies and Taylor Swift. Nic was the proud father of two children, thankfully, neither of which were named "Charlie." Together, they shared a love of music, animals, video games and sleeping in late. He was proud of his Hispanic heritage and Jewish faith, and was an active member of the Mat-Su Jewish Center. Nic passed away, at the age of 36, on Apr. 16, 2025, at his home in Anchorage. He is survived by his parents, five siblings, his daughter and his son. He was preceded in death by four siblings. He has been laid to rest in the Jewish section of Anchorage Memorial Cemetery.
