Barbara Lynn Ling, a beacon of laughter and love, passed away, at the age of 62, in Anchorage, Alaska, on Oct. 27, 2024. Born on May 23, 1962, in Corvallis, Ore., Barbara's infectious spirit and generous heart touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A dedicated partner to her spouse for 30 years, Keith Ellingworth, Barbara's unwavering support and boundless love formed the foundation of their family. She was a cherished mother to Christopher, Dawson and Kassidy as well as many others that were not her own. Her role as a grandmother was one she embraced with joy and pride, never missing a chance to be the loudest cheerleader at her grandchildren's sporting events.

Her love for sports was undeniable. A longtime hockey mom, Barbara's enthusiasm sometimes led to her being kicked out of the stands, much to the amusement of fellow parents. Her presence at games was a given, whether it was to cheer or to yell, she was there, a testament to her dedication to her children and later her grandchildren's athletic pursuits.

Barbara's professional life was marked by over two decades of service with the Anchorage School District. She held various positions throughout her career, but her true passion always lay in working with children. Her colleagues and the countless students she impacted will remember her for her commitment to their growth and well-being.

Those who knew Barbara will remember her for her humor, which could light up the darkest of rooms. Generous to a fault, she gave her time, resources and affection freely. Her love was a warm embrace that enveloped friends, family and even strangers. Barbara's legacy is one of love, a love that knew no bounds and was felt by everyone in her presence.

Barbara's life was a testament to the power of humor, generosity and affection. She leaves behind a family that adores her, friends who admire her, and a community that will deeply miss her presence. As we bid farewell to Barbara Lynn Ling, we do so with grateful hearts, having been graced by her spirit, laughter and unending love.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Jones. She is survived by her spouse, Keith Ellingworth; children, Christopher Ling (Lawren), Dawson Ellingworth, Kassidy Ellingworth; grandsons, Noah and Hudson; father, Arthur Jones (Jeanette); and sister, Carol Baxter (Dale) and their children Ian and Alyssa.

A celebration of life will be held on June 7, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Spenard Rec Center in Anchorage.
