Valerie Boone

Longtime Alaska resident Valerie S. Boone, 63, passed away on May 18, 2020, while staying at Maple Springs in Wasilla, Alaska.

A graveside service will be held on June 12, 2020, at 1 p.m., at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Valerie will be laid to rest with her husband Daniel E Boone.

Mrs. Boone was born on May 20, 1956, in Alice, Texas, to Nettie and Bud Fuller. She and her family moved to Chitina, Alaska, in 1967, and then later moved to Whittier, Alaska, where she met and married her husband Daniel. They moved to the Kenai Peninsula, where they raised four boys. Valerie retired from the USPS where she had been the Postmaster of Chitina Post Office.

Her family wrote: "Mom, we love you. God bless you and keep you. We will see you again."

She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Francis Boone of Wyoming, Jonathan and Greta Boone Carlsbad, N.M., Richard and Lisa of California, and Joshua and Danyle Boone of Chitina; and 10 grandchildren, Daniel E. Boone III, Randy Boone, Wyatt Boone, Emily P. Boone, Jonathan H. Boone II, Lilah Boone, Nathan Boone, Timothy Boone, David Boone and Joselyn Boone.

Mrs. Boone is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Boone; her mother, Nettie Johnston; and both fathers, Budd Fuller and Horace Johnston Jr.
