Stephanie Renee Zentmire, age 39, passed away on May 23, 2024, in Palmer, Alaska, due to heart failure complications. At the time of her peaceful passing she was surrounded by loved ones. Stephanie was a lifelong Alaskan, born on Jan. 26, 1985, in Anchorage. She was a resident of Palmer at the time of her death. She graduated from East High School in Anchorage in 2003. She worked in retail, as a pharmacy tech and then found her calling in the hospitality field. She worked at various hotels until she found a home at the Grand View in Wasilla, Alaska, as the Assistant Manager. Stephanie was known for her quick-witted humor, infectious laughter, storytelling/reenactment and generous spirit. She created lifetime bond with many friends that she considered family. Music and dancing were some things she was passionate about. She was proud to be a supporter of the LGBTQ community and their rights. Although she did not have any children of her own, she lavished attention on her beloved nieces, nephews and younger cousins. She was known to be a great cook, and could whip up many delicious dishes along with her signature drink, "Champaigne." Her beautiful spirit is going to be greatly missed. She is predeceased by her mother, Kacy Clark; and maternal grandparents Bob and Diane Clark; as well as her cats, Boo Boo, Phineas, Aries and Carly, who she referred to as her "kids." She is survived by her beloved partner of 18 years, Scott Martin; and cats, Lt. Dan, Socks and Cheeto, whom she loved more than life itself; father, Jerry Zentmire (Sue); aunt, Kim Zentmire; uncle, Rob Zentmire; grandparents, Peggy O'Neil (Burt); grandfather Gerald Zentmire Sr.; nephews and nieces; on her mothers side: uncle Steve; uncle Greg ; and cousins; also surviving are the Rodgers family: stepfather Kenny Rodgers; grandparents, Ann and Ray Rodgers; beloved sister, Megan Raitto; brother, Calvin Rodgers; aunt, Lisa; aunt, Shelly; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life for Stephanie on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 2 p.m., at The Government Peak Chalet, 10690 N. Mountain Trails Drive in Palmer. Her ashes will be spread at one of her favorite places, a Kenai bluff overlooking the inlet and Seward, Alaska.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor at any of the cat rescues as she was a huge lover of cats and animals and took in strays and made them her own.
