"Gene" Clyde Eugene Ashlock

Our beloved brother, father and grandfather passed away Dec. 30, 2023, age 68, just two weeks before his birthday. Gene was in Anchorage, Alaska, when he passed, COO of Dimond Center.

A resident of the Austin, Texas, area for many years, Gene came to Anchorage to work in our family business. He was respected by colleagues, employees, tenants, friends and family for his intelligent, compassionate and engaging manner.

Gene graduated from University of Texas, and later earned a master's degree in family counseling. In earlier years he had been an IT consultant in Austin.

Gene is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; and parents, Joe and Patty Ashlock.

He is survived by two daughters, six grandchildren, four siblings and multiple cousins.

Gene is forever in our hearts. A memorial is planned for March 4, 2024, at 5 p.m., at the Dave & Buster's space at Dimond Center, second floor, 800 East Dimond Boulevard in Anchorage. All friends, employees and people who knew Gene are welcome to join us in celebrating his life.
