Connie Williams
Jan 22, 1942 -
Apr 27, 2020
To some, she was Grandma Connie, the grandmother and great-grandmother with a quick smile, witty sense of humor and stubborn demeanor. To others, she was the friendly face behind the counter at Marie's Beauty Supply, or the helpful waitress at Gwennie's, Lucky Wishbone or Peggy's. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, crocheting and raising Pomeranian puppies. In her spare time, she could be seen working on her yard, or in the community at the tables in the mall, sharing Bible literature. She was an avid reader of the Bible, and enjoyed fellowship with her congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Connie had an independent spirit and lived a life full of adventure - camping, fishing and traveling, making new friends wherever she would go. Prior to living in Anchorage, she lived in Kenai, Alaska, but had grown up in Colorado. She lived a quiet life, and loved going for long drives "just to see what was down that road." Connie passed away due to complications of diabetes.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Marvin "Butch" and John Scott; and her parents, Marvin and Edna Bailey. She leaves behind two siblings, Marvin "Les" Bailey and Garold "Skip" Bailey; one child, Vicki Fruichantie; three granddaughters; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We are grateful to know that she is resting in peaceful slumber.
A memorial service will be held via Zoom for those wishing to "attend" on May 30, 2020, at 2 p.m. AKDT. The passcode will be posted to her Facebook page.
