Longtime Palmer, Alaska, resident Connie Sue Welsh, 69, passed away on Dec. 21, 2023, while at Mat-Su Regional Hospital.

Connie was born on Oct. 29, 1954, in El Dorado, Kan., to Naomi Danner and Thomas Beinhorn. Connie graduated from El Dorado High School in 1972. Connie came to Alaska in June 1978, where she worked at Humana Hospital and Veterans Administration for many years. Connie retired from the Veterans Administration after 27 years as a file clerk. Connie has resided in Palmer for the last 20 years. In retirement, Connie enjoyed a simple life while spending time with family and friends. Connie's family wrote, "Connie's love for her family and kind heart was an influence to her loved ones."

She is survived by her three sons, Layton, Joshua and Jeremiah Welsh; four grandchildren, Matthew, Stacey, Sydney Welsh and Bojo Amatorio; and three great-grandchildren, Evalynn Bentley, Kobe and Aliana Amatorio. Ms. Welsh was preceded in death by her brother, George Rose; sister, Barbara Haines; and grandson, Anthony Welsh.
