Stuart Dudley Gilbert, age 76, of Eagle River, Alaska, died on Nov. 24, 2023, in Boston, Mass., after a 2-year battle with cancer.

Stuart was born on Dec. 9, 1946, in Bennington, Vt., the eldest son of Marcia and Stuart Kerr Gilbert. He attended Dorset Elementary School.

His parents; and sister, Susan, preceded him in death.

Stuart leaves his wife, Betty; daughter, Lily Kagen Hill; brother, Christopher; sister, Linda; and a host of friends.

Burial will be at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on June 7, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 p.m., at the VFW in Eagle River.
