Nov 28, 2023
Andrew Clay Dupree, better known as "Andy," age 51, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away at his home on Nov. 28, 2023.
Andrew was the last of six sons born to Robert and Ruth (Sandstorm) Dupree on June 6, 1972, in Grants Pass, Ore.
The family traveled to Alaska in 1982, and made it their permanent home, where Andrew graduated from West High School. He was interested in automobiles, vintage to present, and motorcycles, was an avid guitarist and a natural born "MacGyver," always tinkering, inventing and fixing mechanical objects; there were very few he couldn't figure out.
Andy was good hearted and a strong willed man with a good sense of humor. He was helpful to his friends and loved to laugh.
He worked for Alaska Tire for 20-plus years, quickly becoming a core valued asset to the company.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth; and brothers, Christopher Albert and Daniel Willy Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Dupree of Anchorage; son, Andrew Dupree II of Anchorage; brothers, Matt Albert, Terry Albert and Robert Dupree Jr.; sister, Barbara Willy and many nieces and nephews.
His family remembers: "Andy's greatest gift in life was being a father. He put his whole heart and soul into the opportunity God had given him. The love, loyalty and strength required to be such a father was not wasted, but given with much reward and pride that his brothers had instilled in him.
"Family is an unbreakable bond that will outlast life or death. Andy was unique in every way and a very loved individual will be truly missed. Rest in peace. Godspeed."
Celebration of Andy's Life will be held at Anchorage Funeral Home at a later date.
Memorial donations may be sent in Andy's honor to Andrew Dupree II, 2020 E 36th St. #8, Anchorage, AK 99517.
