Barry Sanborn, 69, passed away at Prestige Care and Rehabilitation Center in Anchorage, Alaska, on Aug. 27, 2023.

Barry was born in Flint, Mich., on Oct. 28, 1953. He moved to Alaska in the mid-60s and became a resident of Chugiak, Alaska. Barry worked for the Postal Service in the '80s and '90s, and previously was a land surveyor. After retiring from the Postal Service, he worked in the IRS mail room. He was an avid movie collector, enjoyed comic books, foreign currency/coin collecting and loved storytelling. Nobody got away from him without hearing the most ridiculous stories he could make up.

Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Sanborn of Anchorage and Amber Baldwin of North Dakota; granddaughters, Rachel Kumpost of Anchorage and Damia and Emma Baldwin both of North Dakota; and nephew, Troy Sanborn of Anchorage.

The family will be having a "Heavenly Birthday" Celebration of Life at Moose's Tooth in their banquet room on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
