Eric Lynn Lamberson
Sep 22, 2023
Have you ever met someone who leaves you with a feeling of peace and happiness to be alive? Eric Lamberson did just that. He listened. He genuinely cared. He had a witty sense of humor and an infectious laugh that buoyed one's spirit. The delight in the perennial chuckles between Eric and his wife, Terry, was heartwarming.
Eric Lynn Lamberson passed away in September 2023, after a brave 4 1/2-year battle with melanoma. A native of the Territory of Alaska, Eric was born in 1955 in Seward, and migrated with his family to Anchorage after the 1964 earthquake. He graduated from West Anchorage High School and went on to complete a degree in electronics from the University of Alaska Anchorage. His working life included many years at the Alaska Brick Company, Alyeska Pipeline and ConocoPhillips. His previous colleagues, when faced with a problem, have been known to muse, "What would Eric do?".
Sometimes referred to as "Guru" Eric Lamberson, he could fix almost anything. At the very least, he was ready with sage advice, most of which was proffered while wearing one of his many tie-dyed T-shirts. His collection was legendary.
A lover of adventure, Eric embarked on epic motorcycle trips with friends, worldwide travel with his family, and he enjoyed ice hockey, scuba diving, bicycling and snowmachining. He treasured time with his grandsons.
Predeceased by his father, L.C. Lamberson; and young son, Eric Lynn Lamberson II in 1983; Eric is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Terry; daughter, Kerstin (Austin) Buehler; and grandsons, Corbin, Hudson and Reagan; son, Sean Lamberson; mother, Doris Timperley; sisters, Ann (George) Riggs, Chellie Miller and Deana Horton; sister-in-law, Holly (Jeff Forristall) Daniels; brother-in-law, Rod (Nina Neel) Lund; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Yes, we love our big family.
Eric will be remembered by many things but especially by the positive spirit he shared with the people whose paths he crossed. He will be greatly missed.
If you are so inclined, donations may be made in Eric's name to Ancora Home Health and Hospice or the American Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life is planned for Oct. 14, 2023; Please contact the family for details.
