Theron "Paul" Jenne

Nov 22, 1960 -

Sep 3, 2023

Theron "Paul" Jenne, born on Nov. 22, 1960, in Novato, Calif., passed away early on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, following a year long battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Theron "Mike" and Catherine Jenne. Paul graduated from Bartlett High School in May 1979, and went on to have a successful career in customer and food service for over 40 years.

Paul had a vibrant life filled with travel and adventure. As part of an Air Force family, he traveled extensively and lived in many different locations, including California, Taiwan, Texas, Minnesota, Belgium, Germany, Oklahoma, finally settling in Alaska. It was in Minnesota where he discovered his love for downhill skiing, a passion he shared with his family skiing in the Italian Alps, Austria, and stateside in Colorado, Nevada, and Alaska.

An artist at heart Paul expressed his creativity through Midnight Sun Mimes, band and orchestra where he was first chair coronet. Paul had a lifelong love of painting and drawing as a sketch artist.

Paul found solace in the local library and the Alaskan Bar in Juneau, where he could immerse himself in books and enjoy the company of friends.

Despite being ill, Paul was able to travel to Massachusetts in June 2023 for a reunion of all his immediate and extended Jenne family to celebrate the 400th anniversary of their arrival in Plymouth.

Paul's love for fine dining was cultivated through his extensive travels around the world. Paul had a particular fondness for fine cuisine. Even with his global palette his very favorite meals were Alaska salmon and Alaska halibut.

Paul is survived by his sisters, Margaret Jenne and Suzanne Goodrich; brothers-in-law Craig, Goodrich and Dan Vandervort; nephew, Eric Vandervort; nephew, Sam Goodrich with Amanda Goodrich and their children Theryn - Theron's namesake - and Verse; and his Jenne family spread across the Lower 48. He leaves behind a vast network of wonderful friends and coworkers.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Paul's Juneau and Anchorage family and friends, as well as the members of his caregiving teams. It does take a village, or in Paul's case, two villages.

A celebration of life will be held in Juneau at the Alaskan Bar on Sept. 17, 2023, at 4 p.m.; and on Sept. 30, 2023, at 4 p.m., at 22726 Needels Loop in Chugiak, Alaska. In lieu of flowers, Paul kindly requests donations be made to the Juneau Hospice program.
