Henry "Hank" Olson

Henry "Hank" Olson, 86, went to be with his Lord on July 20, 2023.

He was one of six children and was born in Devil's Lake, N.D., on Sept. 6, 1936. When he was 6, he stayed home from school to take care of his sick dad. He also was a loving caregiver to his mother-in-law, Ethel Kina. The Army moved him to Alaska in 1959. He owned his own carpet cleaning, janitorial and maid service in Anchorage, Alaska. He retired and built his own home in Caswell Lakes in 1999. He loved his God, family, church family, bowling and wood turning. He was a member of Hidden Hills Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. He had served on several homeowners' boards and the RSA 15 board.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Olson; sons, Gary Olson and Steve (Terry) Kirby; daughters, Karen (Larry) Corkins and Laurie (Mark) Murphy; sisters, Ann Colis and Janice Snortland; grandchildren, Brandon and Tyler Olson, Ty and Krista Kirby and Sean Murphy; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Hidden Hills Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Willow, Alaska, on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 7 p.m.
