Dr. Dale Isaac Webb

Alaska resident Dr. Dale Isaac Webb, 84, died peacefully in June at Providence Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Quarter Deck at the Hotel Captain Cook on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 4-7 p.m.

Dr. Webb was born in 1938 in Tulsa, Okla., to Clifford Olus Webb and Lois Marie Woodrow. He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1956. Dale received his bachelor's degree at Baylor University in 1960, and his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1964. He started his fellowship in hematology at Cornell Medical Center in 1968, and was called to serve in the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. When he returned to the United States, Dale finished his hematology fellowship at San Francisco General Hospital.

Dr. Webb moved to Alaska in 1971, where he worked as a hematologist at the Alaska Clinic. In 1979, he started his own solo practice and later founded the Katmai Oncology Group located in Providence Medical Center. He was a pioneer in oncology, and truly loved his work and patients. Dr. Webb had an intellectual curiosity and keen intelligence that fostered his love for humanity.

He was a true renaissance man; he loved travel, reading all types of literature, music and, most of all, people. He loved Alaska and exploring its beauty flying his super cub. Dr. Webb left an indelible mark and will be missed by many.

Dr. Webb is survived by his wife, LuAnn Webb; two sisters, Rebecca Burchart and Elisa Webb; two daughters and two sons, Nathaniel Webb of Anchorage, Marcail Moore (Chad Moore) of Houston, Texas, Dr. Kendal Webb (Dr. Syed Rahman) of Anchorage, and Britton Webb (Megan Webb) of Anchorage. He has six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Anchorage Symphony.
