Cheryl Lynn Hurd, age 48, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Oct. 25, 2022. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her close family.
A celebration of life for Cheryl will be held at the Kincaid Chalet from 4-8 p.m., on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Cheryl was born on Sept. 21, 1974, in Phoenix, Ariz. Shortly after, she moved to Homer, Alaska, where she grew up and completed high school.
She married her high school sweetheart, Andrew Hurd, in 1997 and gave birth to their first daughter shortly after. She moved to Anchorage with her family in the year 2000 to build her career, as there were many more opportunities in a larger city.
Cheryl resided in Anchorage for the remaining part of her life. She worked hard her whole life, mainly in sales and hospitality. She gave 100% to every task and job she had.
Cheryl loved to help other people during her time on earth and would do anything for just about anyone, regardless of whether she knew them or not. She loved contributing to the community and volunteering even when she was battling cancer.
She loved many things in life, to include spending time with her family and friends, traveling, beaches, camping, playing games, dancing, reading, adventures and playing sports.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 26 years, Andy; two beautiful daughters, Makenna (Tanner) and Kylie; sisters, Ginger and Kristen; brothers, Kirk and Seth; parents, Jim and Sandra; nieces and nephews; and her new and only grandson, Jace.
Her family, friends and all of those that she has touched in life will forever miss Cheryl.
The family asked that donations be made to a hospice organization or a cancer research center, in lieu of flowers.
