Mar 5, 2023
Richard "Dick" Lindeman passed quietly at home on March 5, 2023. He was born to Rev. Clarence and Dorothy Lindeman in Erie, Pa. As a preacher's child he lived all over the U.S. while growing up.
He received a bachelor's degree in engineering physics from Northwest Nazarene University, two masters degrees and a doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado, and two years of postdoctoral work were done in clinical psychology at Montana State University. Dick spent five years as a missionary for the Nazarene Church. He was in charge of the Christian radio broadcast system in Japan. He was blessed of God to be able to work in a diversified array of service: from four years in the U.S. Air Force, to being a test engineer on the Titan missiles with Lockheed Martin, in the radio and TV broadcasting field, teaching as a college professor and finally as a social worker and therapist.
In September 1988, he and his wife Ellen Linsley married in Leadville, Colo., then moved to Palmer, Alaska, where they resided in the home he custom built. He loved the outdoors and spent as much time as possible skiing, hiking, biking and canoeing. His love of his Lord Jesus was obvious as he taught adult Bible study in several different churches including Farm Loop Christian Center. Dick wanted to be a positive influence for Christ with all the people he worked or associated with along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Linsley; sister-in-law, Jeann Linsley of New York City; sister, Shirley Bickel of Pueblo, Colo.; daughter and granddaughter, Robin and Alyssa West of Billings, Mont. He is now serving his Lord in heaven.
Services will be held on March 11, 2023, at 2 p.m., at Farm Loop Christian Center, 5900 Farm Loop Road, Palmer, AK 99645.
