Shere's main focus in life was her family. As long as her family had what they needed, Shere was happy.
She graduated from Hudson's Bay High School, class of 1967.
Shere worked many jobs and performed many tasks, including at Igloo Restaurant, Jantzen Swimwear, Freightliner and Owed Upholstery Shops Shakna Ind. and S & M Ind. Shere was also known as the refunding and coupon queen before "couponing" was invented. If that wasn't enough, Shere was Brooke's Girl Scout leader and always encouraged her daughter try everything and found a way to support that adventure. She became a certified scuba diver, loved camping and rode three-wheelers and dune buggies on the Oregon Dunes. It was on the dunes that she became the camper's favorite Spaghetti Chef and would feed all who showed up.
In the early 1990s, Shere worked for Wright Schuchart Harbor Co., building modules for the Alaska North Slope Oil fields. This drew her to Alaska. Shere worked in every pump station on the Alyeska Pipeline, BP Prudhoe Bay, Milne Point and Kuparuk as functional checkout out documentation support person. In 1995, Shere transitioned to Weld Documentation Control and worked for ASRC - Milne Point, ASRC – Kuparuk, and Harder Mechanical – Utah Co-Generation Plant, El Segundo CA Oil Refinery, Moses Lake WA Silicon Generation Facility and back to Alaska. Shere then worked as a management of change coordinator at three facilities in the BP Prudhoe Bay Oilfield. In 2015, Shere retired to visit friends, garden, travel and, above all, fish.
During the summers, Joey and Shere would spend 30 days on the ocean fishing for rockfish, salmon and halibut. Shere was a halibut fillet master. Some of the best times for Shere were at dipnetting fish camp; Hard work on a 200 fish day, but that's the kind of girl Shere was. She'd get it done, too.
Shere is a woman who touched many peoples' lives in such positive ways. Shere has been a great person, great friend, great worker, great mother, great grandmother and great grandmother, literally. She has passed in peace knowing that everyone she touched loves and respects her. Shere loved fiercely, was so classy and beautiful with those glacier ice blue eyes. Shere is an amazing lady and will be missed but never ever forgotten!
