Dec 18, 2022

Eileen Lilly Guillen-Brenner, 65, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, in her home in Anchorage, Alaska. She is survived by her sons, Kalen and Garen Brenner, Nathan Ballard; brother, Richard Guillen; uncle, Samuel Cornell; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and spiritual brothers and sisters.

Eileen was born on Sept. 8, 1957, in Los Angeles, Calif., where she lived until moving to Anchorage in 1975. She married in 1979, and later had children. She moved back to Los Angeles in 1986, and then to Washington state in 1987 until returning to Alaska in 1992. During those years, Eileen worked for at the Hotel Captain Cook, National Bank of Alaska, McDonalds, Lake Stevens School District, Anchorage School District and NAPA Auto Parts.

Eileen is remembered for her positive, fun, loving and generous personality. She had a way of making everyone she talked with feel at ease, special and loved. Eileen had a great sense of fashion, good taste in music, an amazing memory and really knew how to have a good time. She enjoyed watching and playing sports, going for long drives, playing board and card games and talking with people, especially friends and family.

Eileen was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 4, 1968. She strengthened and encouraged from reading and studying the Bible and shared what she learned with others. Eileen firmly believed in Jehovah God's promise of a resurrection (John 5:28) and life in a paradise on earth (Luke 23:43, Psalms 115:16) with no more sickness (Isaiah 33:24), sufferings or death (Isaiah 35:5-7, Revelation 21:4).

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at 3 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2301 Strawberry Road in Anchorage. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses at donate.jw.org.
