Larry Moss

Oct 9, 1950 -

Jan 20, 2023

Larry J. Moss passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Jan. 20, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on Oct. 9, 1950, to Floyd and Margaret Moss in Nampa, Idaho. His family moved from the farm in Idaho to California around Larry's senior year of high school. In 1971, through a blind date orchestrated by his nephew Jerry, he met the love of his life, Lesley, at a drive-in movie theatre. They married on Jan. 22, 1972, and began their journey in California before moving on to Oregon, Washington, and finally Alaska, which became home. Together almost 51 years, they raised three children and welcomed seven grandchildren.

Larry loved his family and was known as Dad, Daddy, Pops, Grandpa and Pa. He had many interests such as gardening, landscaping, painting, home brewing, grilling and his favorite was developing the family Big Beaver Lake property. He referred to the lake as his "little slice of heaven" and enjoyed the quiet mornings with a hot cup of coffee. He was handy and could fix just about anything! He had a great sense of humor and was an example of integrity and hard work, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Larry diligently worked in the title industry for 54 and as Chief Title Officer was nicknamed "Mighty Moss." His experience and knowledge was sought after by colleagues in the industry when it came to complicated or tricky land/real estate transactions.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Lesley; their children and spouses, Angela Pollard, Marianne and Gabe Nelson, and Jason and Felicia Moss; and grandchildren, Jaden, Hannah, Megan and Simon Nelson, and Caleb, Savannah and Gabriella Moss. He is also survived by four siblings, Richard Moss, Jeannette Wantz, Karen Gregorich and Judy Lyon; as well as numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings; and one nephew.

True to his nature, he requested no formal service be held. However, in his honor, raise a glass to a man who lived a very blessed life and share the many stories that will live in our hearts forever. A private ceremony will be held in summer 2023 and his ashes spread amongst his favorite places.
