James "Jim" Henry Gerharz, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, with his family by his side, at the Pioneer Home in Anchorage, Alaska.

Born in Wisconsin, Jim married Bernice "Bunny: Parsons in May 1959. In December 1972, he and his family moved to Alaska. There he was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing with his boys.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bunny; an infant daughter, Lynn Marie; and sister, Mary Louise Gerharz.

He is survived by three siblings; his children, Kay Brown and her husband Russell, Peter Gerharz and wife Sherri, Paul Gerharz and wife Rhonda and Karen Larkin and husband Peter; as well as nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Jim is further survived by his longtime companion, Jerri Johnson.

No local services have been scheduled. After cremation, Jim will be buried with his wife, Bunny, this summer in Stockbridge, Wis.
