Nancy Fitzhugh

Nancy Lee Curtis Fitzhugh passed away peacefully, at the age of 88, on Oct. 13, 2022, in Nampa, Idaho, after living for more than 70 years in Alaska. She was born on Jan. 10, 1934, in Sheridan, Wyo., and moved to the town of Hope in the Territory of Alaska, at the age of 5, with her family. Nancy graduated from Anchorage High School in 1952.

Her husband, Maurice Fitzhugh; parents, Harold and Aileen Curtis; brother, Alan Curtis; stepchildren, Marlene Pennington, Marjorie Gresham and Michael Fitzhugh; and grandchildren, Mayona and Thomas Gresham, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her brother, David Curtis; children, Richard Heusser, Julie Heusser, Michael (Gayla) Heusser, Mark (Lisa) Heusser, Kathy Apple, Mark (Sandy) Fitzhugh, Pat (Sue) Fitzhugh, Myron Fitzhugh; nieces, Diana Cuthbert and Libby Edelman; nephew, David Curtis; grandchildren, Lisa, Laura, Scott, Mary, Matt , Michelle, Melissa, Melony, Larry, Martin, Marcus, Marquia and Bobi; great-grandchildren, Denali, River, Ethan, Nicholas, Lily, Troilynn, Majesta, Maurice, Marissa and Max; as well as numerous four-pawed grandchildren.

Nancy and Morrie enjoyed many happy times camping, fishing and hunting. Her ashes will join Morrie's at their favorite campsite along the Denali Highway.
