William "Bill" Aube

William "Bill" Alfred Aube, 67, passed away in Palmer, Alaska, on June 30, 2022, due to a heart attack. Bill was born in Alpena, Mich., to George and Kathryn Aube. After graduating Alpena High School, he served in the Air Force and was stationed on Elmendorf Air Force Base. There he met Carol Ryan-Aube and were married for 42 years. They raised four children: Patrick (Delphine) Ryan, Annie Aube, Meggie Aube-Trammell (Justin Trammell) and Sean Aube (Amanda Joy Bailey). Bill was a devoted, loving, caring supportive husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather of four.
Second to his family, his life's work was as a social worker. Bill graduated from University of Alaska Anchorage and his master's degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. He spent his entire career working with people with mental illness in the Mat-Su and Anchorage communities as the Executive Director of Daybreak Incorporated. His generous nature, kind spirit, problem solving skills and compassionate soul permeated everything he did. His legacy is the improved quality of life that he helped every one of his clients, friends and family find. His work in the mental health field will forever impact the lives of so many Alaskans. He has been active over the years in the Sacred Heart Church Community, Wasilla Area Senior Inc., Palmer Arts Council, Treasure Loft/Turn A Leaf and taught at Matanuska-Susitna College.
Bill's Memorial service will be held at the Palmer Train Depot on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Bill's family is requesting you donate to his lifelong work at Daybreak Incorporated, a mental health nonprofit agency that assists people with mental illness in Palmer, Daybreak Incorporated, 550 South Alaska Street, Suite 202, Palmer, AK 99645.
