Frederick "Rick" Woodard

Mar 3, 1943 -

Oct 8, 2021

Frederick "Rick" Henry Woodard died on Oct. 8, 2021. He was born in Everett, Wash., to Clinton "Bud" E. Woodard and Catherine V. Woodard.

Rick was a proud patriot serving in Vietnam as a Seabee. He dedicated his life to his country through his affiliation with the Veterans of Foreign Wars as an Honor Guard.

Many in his life loved Rick. He married Heidi E. Hamlin (d. 1998) and her daughter, Audrey Irene, in 1968. The family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1969, where he was part of Woodard Construction. They welcomed their daughter, Kristina Maria, in 1970.

After Heidi's death, he met and married Sharyn Pierce and gained two adult daughters, Sherry Gayle and Becky Lynn.

He is survived by his wife, Sharyn Woodard; daughters, Audrey Hamlin, Kristina Holdrige, Sherry Marion and Becky Matyear; granddaughters, Abbey Hamlin and Stella Holdrige; as well as siblings, Arnold Woodard and Catherine Escobar; and nieces and nephews, Tara, Jon, Jerry and Jia, in addition to their families.

Those that had the privilege of receiving his wisdom and love felt how much love he was giving to each of us and the world. Rick worked very hard to take care of his family. The world has lost a loving, sweet, caring man, but God has gained an angel. He earned his wings.
