With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cathy Jo Myers on Sept. 15, 2022, age 75, in Anchorage, Alaska, with her loving husband, Steve, by her side, following a six-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on Oct. 16, 1947, in Altoona, Pa., daughter of the late Richard and Marie Patterson. Cathy was a 1965 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She married Stephen A. Myers on Sept. 9, 1967, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona. An adored mother and grandmother, and beloved wife; a beautiful and selfless soul who had a positive influence on everyone who knew her, with compassion for all people and animals; an inspiration of strength and all-encompassing love and joy of life.

She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and dearly loved husband, Stephen A. Myers, commemorating their 55th anniversary on Sept. 9, 2022; their children and family, Marie and Lance Stevens, Melissa Myers, Paul and Tara Myers and Matilda Myers (Boston Terrier); grandchildren, Kiley Stevens, Alex Stevens and Benjamin Myers; sister, Tina Rogers; brothers, Steve Patterson and Scott Patterson; and by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As an accomplished insurance underwriter in Alaska for more than 25 plus years, Cathy developed many lifelong treasured friendships. She was proud to be a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Alaska, actively serving as Secretary. Cathy led a full life with Steve and their children, traveling to many parts of the world as a military wife, enjoying each new endeavor with her zest for life and devotion to her family, leaving golden memories to be cherished.
