Alan "Al" Wayne Gould was a force to be reckoned with and cared deeply for his family and friends. On Aug. 23, 2022, at the age of 57, he left this world suddenly due to natural causes.
Al was born to William "Bill" Raymond Gould Sr. and Carole Ann Gould on March 28, 1965, in Anchorage, Alaska. After graduating from Chugiak High School in 1983, Al chased his dreams down to the Denver Institute of Technology, where he quickly realized he knew more about fixing vehicles than his professors and returned home.
A man of incredible talent, Al held many impactful positions. He was employed by the Municipality of Anchorage and Boeing. He also worked with Western Geophysical and fiberoptics jobs on the local military bases. Al's greatest passion though, was painting hotrods. In 2011, he officially opened his own business, Al's Custom.
A special note from his family: "No one was like Al. He was a rock that never let us down. Everyone who knew him knew they could lean on him during the rough times, and party with him during the good times. The strength he possessed wasn't flashy or in your face, but he was a powerhouse. He put his family and friends first, making sure they were protected no matter what. It is hard to imagine life without him and we will all miss him dreadfully."
Al is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard Carl and Katherine Mary McKissick-Feltman; and Clarence Thomas and Dorothy Louise Drake.
He is survived by his parents, William "Bill" and Carole Gould of Chugiak; daughter, Katheryn "Katie" Teitzel and grandson, Grayson of San Antonio, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, William "Billy" and Sherri Gould and their children, Brooklynn and Garrett of Eagle River, Alaska; and last-but-not-least, his fur baby, Lola.
