Aug 10, 2022
Nathan Tommy Green, 57, passed away peacefully at his Anchorage, Alaska, home on Aug. 10, 2022, with his family by his side. Nathan was born in Arizona, in 1964, and moved to Alaska as a young boy with his family in 1974. He remained a lifelong Alaskan until his passing.
Among his many pursuits and accomplishments in life, Nathan chose education as his career and worked as a teacher for the Anchorage School District for more than 25 years. During this time, he mentored and inspired Anchorage's youth in academics, sports, music and how to make positive contributors to society. Nathan was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmachiner and musician. He excelled in all of those interests and was revered by his family and friends for his ability to always catch the biggest fish, harvesting the largest moose and his guitar playing. And while he was envied for those accomplishments, his true motivation was creating love, proximity and lasting memories for his family and loved ones. In that, he was successful beyond measure.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Gina Green; daughters, Paisley Green and Tatiana Green; sons, Talon Sturgill and Jamie Green; mother, Betty Green; brothers, Joshua Green, Timothy Green and Matthew Green; sister, Tirzah Crampton; and nieces and nephews, Hannah, Amanda, Caleb, Dakota, Jade, Kendra, Noah, Lily, Hayden, Jackson, Micah, Nina, Jasmine and Sylvester.
He is preceded in death by his father, G. Hayden Green; and brother, Caleb Green.
A service will be held at the Baxter Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2240 Baxter Road, Anchorage, AK 99504, with a visitation to begin at 3 p.m., and a memorial service at 4 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022. Arrangements are being made by Kehl's Legacy Funeral Home.
