Eric Kensey McIntosh

Longtime Anchorage, Alaska, resident Eric Kensey McIntosh, 76, died on Oct. 10, 2021, at his home.

A private service will be held on June 30, 2022, at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

Eric was born on Nov. 9, 1944, in Shiloh Valley Township, Ill., to Jamie and Thomas McIntosh. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962 and enjoyed a 13-year career. Eric moved to Anchorage in 1982, after always dreaming of living in Alaska. Eric married Jody on May 9, 1987, in Anchorage. He worked at Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility before retiring. He enjoyed coaching his younger children in little league softball and baseball and attending his grandchildren's soccer, volleyball and hockey games. Eric enjoyed spending Christmas in Carson City, Nev., with his older children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and often played jokes on them and would be seen with a grin on his face.

He is survived by his wife, Jody McIntosh; brother, Glen McIntosh; sister, Lauren McIntosh-Cotton; daughter, Bronwen Turner and family; son, Tod McIntosh and family; Tesann McIntosh and family; daughter, Sasha Forland and family; stepdaughter, Ginger Hawley and family; stepson, Eric Hawley and family; stepdaughter, Kristin Hawley and family; daughter, Kensey Dye and family; and son, Shaun McIntosh and family. Altogether, Eric had six children, three stepchildren, 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
