Jon Cleveland Pearce, 70, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2020, in his retirement home in Greenville, S.C.

Jon was born to Elizabeth and George Pearce on March 31, 1950, in Washington, D.C. He lived in California and Florida before moving to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1977. After 31 years, he retired from the Anchorage Daily News. He was a proud, caring and loving father, grandfather, brother and good friend to many. He loved gardening, fishing and anything Alaska. He also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.

Jon is survived by his daughters, Deborah Pearce (Randall Youngblood), Jennifer Hinnenkamp (Travis Hinnenkamp) and Lisa Pearce; granddaughters, Stephanie and Sariah; sister, Janice; brothers, Richard and Jay; niece, Cindy; nephews, Edward and David; and great-nephew, Justin.

A private graveside service will be held in Kissimmee, Fla.
