Obituary

Michelle Satrina-Lea Schmidt

Sep 10, 1989 -

May 26, 2022

Michelle was a lifelong Alaska resident. She was born and raised in the Anchorage area. Michelle passed away at Providence Alaska Hospital after a short illness.

Through her youth, Michelle had a passion for both sports and music. The Boys and Girls Club soccer program provided a highlight for many of her summers. She had a talent for music and played flute and piano. Michelle graduated from South Anchorage High School in 2008.

Michelle leaves behind two sons, Cooper Wyatt (5 years old) and Robert Graham (3 1/2 years old). She is also survived by her parents, Reta and Gordon; brother, Chris and spouse Karyn; sister, Jennifer; sister, Kyong and spouse Dan; nieces, nephews; and her special friend, Jonathan.

Michelle's life was filled with hope, with struggle and with triumph. She had an infectious smile and an engaging personality. Michelle took to piano playing naturally: sight reading music and playing seemed easy. She enjoyed playing special music for her mother and her sister. Michelle was compassionate and loved animals, her sons and working with her friend on his truck. She will be sorely missed. The family thanks all the staff at Providence ICU for the care they provided for and the respect they showed to Michelle.

Michelle will be cremated and her ashes interred at Angelus Memorial Park. There will be a Celebration of Life for Michelle on June 24, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the Angelus Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Providence Children's Hospital, providence.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org; or a charity of your choice.
