May 1, 2022
Our beloved Anton Christopher Eriksson was tragically killed in a vehicle wreck while riding as a passenger in Yakutat, Alaska, on May 1, 2022. He was 26 years old.
Anton was born on Jan. 15, 1996, in Soldotna, Alaska. Anton had a kind and giving nature with a wonderful spirit and pure soul. He unconditionally loved his family, pets and friends with an open heart. He so much cherished being alive and in the moment.
Anton enjoyed his active outdoor lifestyle, seizing countless opportunities to ski, hike, hunt, fish and explore in the remote areas of Alaska. Anton treasured spending family time at Redshirt Lake, Girdwood and his childhood home on Longmere Lake.
Anton was a well-versed musician and grew up playing guitar and saxophone in a local multi-family band at numerous fundraisers, weddings, concerts and festivals. He also enjoyed creating and performing music with peers in various local bands.
Anton graduated from Soldotna High School and continued his education at Kenai Peninsula College and Seattle Recording Arts. Anton worked in retail until securing his favorite position as an Audio Video Technician for the Alyeska Resort Hotel in Girdwood. His focus and determination were inspiring to witness as he tenaciously worked on developing skills of a self-styled music producer.
Anton embraced his Scandinavian heritage and, as a free thinker, was open to the Viking's, as well as others, versions of an afterlife. So, whether he's feasting in Valhalla, traveling through alternate realities, exploring the astral plane or creating inspiring music throughout another realm, we will always be able to feel a glint of Anton's radiating love in this world.
Anton was uniquely philosophical with an open and curious mind. He practiced meditation, sought out the quiet of nature and always gave his best to those around him. He was sweet, loving and always perceptive to what others thought and felt.
His loved ones are his parents, Kurt and Amy Eriksson; and brother, Austen Eriksson of Soldotna; grandparents, Lorraine Eriksson of Anchorage and John L. Hall of Girdwood; aunts, Heather Hall and Lisa Hall of Girdwood; uncles, Arvid (Kari) Hall of Anchorage and Eric (Marjorie) Hall of Eagle River; cousins, Kendal and Karsten Hall of Anchorage; numerous great aunts and uncles; beloved cats, Zelda and Persia, who gave him great comfort and joy; and a caring circle of friends.
He was preceded in passing by his infant brother Brandt; grandfather, Sven E. Eriksson; and grandmother, Carol Vig Hall.
Anton so lighted our lives with his bright, loving and caring spirit, that our hearts are now forever broken. In honor and memory of Anton, please take time to love your family, enjoy the wonders of nature, create with passion, keep an open mind, be kind and respect all life.
A celebration of his life will be announced at later date.
