Dr. Thomas Cowan Wood, 82, died peacefully at home in Anchorage, Alaska, on Sept. 25, 2021, with his loving family around him. It was one of his favorite kind of days, with snow on the Chugach Mountains, golden leaves on the birch trees and fall in the air. Tom was a man who was grateful for his life and all the people, places and opportunities it provided him. Dr. Wood survived 12 years after he contracted a rare bacterial infection. It slowed him down but didn't stop him from volunteering in many different capacities in the medical field, as well as enjoying life as a friend, husband, father and grandfather.

Now as spring approaches, Tom's family wishes to honor him at a Celebration of Life at the Kincaid Chalet, 9401 Raspberry Road in Anchorage, on June 10, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. Please come at 4 p.m. for food and beverages. The program and sharing of memories of Tom/Dr. Wood will begin at 5 p.m. We welcome all who knew him, whether it was through the medical profession, as a patient or as a friend.
