Mary was born in Philadelphia, Pa. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Reilly; and brother, Hugh. Mary is survived by her brother, Jack "Moon" Reilly. Mary attended John W. Hallahan High School for Girls in Philadelphia. After graduation she took courses at Wayland Baptist University, where she attained an A average.
Mary was a executive secretary at Sears & Roebuck in Philadelphia, she held several executive positions with the Corps of Engineers in Frankfurt, Germany; Internal Revenue Service in Anchorage, Alaska; and ID card supervisor at Fort Richardson, Alaska, Veterans Administration.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert F. Kessler; children, Kolleen Ellingboe, Robert "RJ" Kessler and Kenneth A. Kessler; as well as three grandchildren, Anna and Erin Ellingboe, and Hailey M. Kessler.
Mary meet her husband Bob in 1963, while Bob was in the U.S. Army. They were married in 1965. Bob re-enlisted and they were in the U.S. Army for 24 years. They traveled around the world. They lived in the Panama Canal Zone; Washington, D.C.; Anchorage; Frankfurt, Germany; Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; and Kauai, Hawaii.
There will be a celebration of life at the Hotel Captain Cook on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
