Feb 14, 2022
Longtime Anchorage, Alaska, resident Gail Williamson, 62, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 14, 2022, in Anchorage.
Gail was born on Aug. 11, 1959, in Lowell, Mass., to Lawrence and Mary Williamson. She graduated from Bridgewater State College, in 1981, with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. She came to Alaska later that same year to visit her sister and loved it so much decided to make it her home. Gail began working for smaller companies estimating projects and jobs before beginning work for Gaston & Associates and later continuing her career with Neeser Construction as a project estimator. Her work brought her across the state over the years and she always appreciated Alaska's natural beauty.
She enjoyed fishing in Prince William sound, visiting the many beaches of Kodiak and occasionally a round of golf with friends. With a passion for living life, one of her greatest joys was being a Gramma. With a large heart and open arms, she always looked forward to time with her family.
Even though she was living in Alaska she was always a Bostonian at heart. Gail never forgot her East Coast roots, always hoping her Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox could just make one more playoff run.
She is survived by her daughter, Lawren Carter and son-in-law Chris Ling of Anchorage; grandsons, Noah, and Hudson; stepchildren, Michael Carter, Joel Carter, Melissa Saathoff, Charlotte Gaston and James Gaston; brother, Donnie Williamson and his family; and brother, Scott Williamson and his family.
A celebration of life will be held at the Amvets Post #2, 855 East 38th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99503, on March 10, 2022, from 5-8 p.m.
