Linda Warren

Dec 28, 1945 -

Jan 17, 2022

Linda Warren, age 76, passed away on Jan. 17, 2022, in Wasilla, Alaska, at Primrose Retirement Community.

Linda Lee Lucas was born to Eleanor McCormack and Lee Lucas on Dec. 28, 1945, in Wrangell, Alaska. A happy childhood memory she often shared was selling garnets on the dock to the many tourists exploring Wrangell.

Her family then moved back to Juneau, Alaska, where she graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1964. After marrying Franklin Howard Warren in Juneau, the family moved briefly to Yakima, Wash., and then returned to Juneau with her three daughters.

In 1972, her sense of adventure brought her and the girls up the Alcan Highway in a station wagon to Anchorage, Alaska, where she raised them and worked at Gary Kings, Travel Center, and eventually retiring from the Salvation Army as a Production Manager. Her hard work and feistiness benefited the many men she called her "boys," as she helped them find their way back into society.

Linda always enjoyed reading, but having family and friends stop by, whether for pizza or just a drink and conversation, was her favorite. She had her family around her for many holidays and gatherings where laughter, fun and memories were always made. Her home was always open to others and she had a special place in her heart for those that needed help.

Linda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Eleanor and Lee Lucas. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Steve Murray, Palmer, Theresa Reich of Anchorage, and Tami and Randy Suden of Great Falls, Mont.; sisters, Leslie Knauss of Wasilla, and Kathi Goddard of Sitka; brother, John Lucas of Waikoloa, Hawaii; grandchildren, Connor Murray of Palmer, Tara Christie of Arizona, Erin Dolan of Texas, Lucas Reich of Utah, Kegan Reich of Anchorage, Taylor Reich of Washington, and Grace and Brooklyn Suden of Montana; great-grandchildren, Michael and James Murray of Wasilla, and Jack Christie of Arizona; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

No memorial service will be held, but a small family celebration will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Linda Warren to the Salvation Army at https://anchorage.salvationarmy.org.
