Bonnie Gorrell

Bonnie K. Gorrell, 81, of Boise, Idaho, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at home with her husband and daughter at her side.

Born in Peoria, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Virginia (Spridco) Schlundt.

Bonnie graduated from Waukesha South High School, in Waukesha, Wis. She was a teletype operator for the Waukesha Daily Freeman, Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette and Anchorage Times. In 1978, she moved from Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Anchorage, Alaska, and a few years later to Girdwood, Alaska.

Later in her career she became a real estate agent for Marston Real Estate and Re/Max Dynamic Properties in Anchorage. She retired in 2012, and enjoyed her days outside tending to the yard during the summer months, and next to the warm fireplace during the winters. In 2020, she and Steven moved to Boise, to be closer to their daughter.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Gorrell; sister, Ginny (Buzz) Schneider of Bartonville, Ill.; three children, Michael Swisher of Anchorage, Kristin (Tom) Alvarez of Boise and Eric (Denise) Gorrell of Tualatin, Ore.; and grandchildren, Alyssa (Ray) Vinson, Rick (Lisa-Ray) Lemieux, Charlotte and Felix Gorrell.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Arc of Anchorage, 2211 Arca Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508-3462.
