Shelley was born on Nov. 6, 1969, in Anchorage. Shelley came from a huge Kodiak family on both sides and is related to the Chya, Deveau, Shuravloff and Anderson families. She grew up in Anchorage and attended Dimond High School. Shelley was an avid hunter with her father and loved to fish. She was a successful businesswoman and had a passion for helping people. Shelley would give you the shirt off her back without being asked and was always there to listen.

There was never a dull moment with Shelley, she could turn any situation into a party. She was young at heart, always laughing and having fun. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world and was so proud of them all. The kids called her "candy grandma" because she always had candy in her purse. Like a true Alaskan, she loved beaches, sunshine and traveling. Shelley loved to drive. She loved the thrill and owned many fast cars and motorcycles throughout her life. She had a deep passion for her Pontiac Firebird in the 90s and most recently just toured the west coast with her husband in their Hellcat.

She never went anywhere without her iced breve coffee, cigarettes or dog, Wiggles. She loved bingo, tanning, shopping at Walmart, reading books, cooking and family.

Shelley is survived by her father, Edward Burl Deveau; husband, Ronald Heskett; children, Amber Jenkins McDonald, Michael Rhodehamel and Madison Mesceda; stepchildren, Whitney Heskett, Karissa Ayers, Aaron Heskett and Blake Hardin; grandchildren, Seanna, Leutian, Marvel June, Jaymason, Maxwell, Riley, Jenna, Cooper, Kinsley, Kato and Wren; and dogs, Wiggles and Buddy. She is preceded in death by her mother, Punky Chya Deveau; and brother, Edward John Deveau.
