Louise Loberg Bidondo, age 83, passed away on Jan. 9, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska.

Born in Palmer, Alaska, in 1938, she was the daughter of Palmer frontiersmen settlers Lauritz and Pearl Loberg. A lifelong Alaska resident, Louise grew up in the Matanuska Valley, and graduated with the Palmer High School Class of 1956. In 1957, she married Joseph Bidondo, and was happily married to him until his death in 1977. They had two sons: Pierre and Craig.

She was a longtime member of Palmer Church of God, teaching Sunday school there for many years. She also worked at her sister's store in Palmer, Lil's Fabrics - later renamed Just Sew. Louise excelled at needlework, making clothes for family and friends as well as local schools and fundraisers. Her summers were spent gardening, and in winter she loved growing flowers indoors.

Louise was a member of Lazy River Family and Community Education Club, the Valley Garden Club, the Palmer Historical Society, Mat-Su Women's Connection and other organizations. She was a charter member of Pioneers of Alaska, Palmer Igloo #11, and was also a volunteer at the Colony House Museum in Palmer. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her sweet disposition, her loving and giving heart and her clear memory of Palmer Colony history.

She is survived by her sons, Pierre Bidondo and Craig Bidondo; grandchildren, Anna Bidondo Heirendt (Maxter Heirendt) and Joseph Bidondo; sister-in-law, Judy Loberg; many nephews, nieces and their children; and a large list of "adopted children and grandchildren" whom she loved too. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bidondo; brothers, Lauritz Loberg and Leif Loberg; and sister, Lillian Plumley.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., at Palmer Church of God, 2900 S Margaret Drive in Palmer. Her family encourages those who loved Louise to consider donating to local organizations of their choice in her memory.
